The "path is the first place it is mentioned, lets liken that to your walk in life, Jesus said "as the seed fell it was trampled on" Hearing the word the devil can trample on it and steal it! Then Jesus mentioned the birds of the air ate up the seed that was sown. Now we know their are so many birds out their, but one bird in particular came to my mind as I was thinking about this parable, the " Vulture" interesting read on them.
The Vulture will move with authority through the skies as if all things are within its rightful ownership. The Vulture is quite content in waiting for what it desires, waiting for hours to get their fair share of resources.
They say nothing, no hoot or hollers, only hissing. Vultures don't need to announce themselves. They're reputation precedes them. Their power is in their purpose.
My point in relating to this is likened to our" enemy" he is lurking about seeing whom he may devour the word says. 1Pe 5:8 Be well balanced (temperate, sober of mind), be vigilant and cautious at all times; for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring [in fierce hunger], seeking someone to seize upon and devour.
1Pe 5:9 Withstand him; be firm in faith [against his onset--rooted, established, strong, immovable, and determined], knowing that the same (identical) sufferings are appointed to your brotherhood (the whole body of Christians) throughout the world.
The seed also fell on rock and when the seed did come up they withered because of no moisture! It says they received it with joy when they heard it, but they have no root, " no staying power" in time they fall away!
And other seed fell among the thorns, and they choked out the seed. The are the cares, worries of this life, it could be people, the old saying they were a" thorn in my side". That could be the biggest of them, "THORNS" people will offend you and if your not careful it could cause you to walk away from every seeing a harvest in your life.
Then last the seed falls on good soil which comes up to produce a hundred times more than was sown. I want to be that don't you!
Jesus said lastly have ears to hear, he who has ears to hear, than hear! Those who hear, and RETAIN IT, " keep it !
He also said though seeing, they may not see; though hearing they may not understand, I believe we have to first respect the word for it to work! It takes perseverance to produce a good crop, so don't give up!
